New York, New York | Day 3- Central Park, Island Cruise, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum & Top of the Rock!

Hello Lovelies. Welcome back to Beautiful You!

Today's post is all about my third day in New York and I know I said this yesterday but I loved this day as we managed to fit in so much and I'm so glad we were able to make the most of our time. We were also able to go to the museum that my step dad wanted to so after yesterday it was nice to do something for him as well.  We managed to fit in Top of the Rock today as well which was brilliant seen as we didn't do it the day before, the only downside of today was that the weather was slightly colder but it wasn't raining so I can't complain!

First stop on our itinery was Central Park, the night before when we went out for dinner we had a really nice server called Mitchell and he told us a good route to take through the park so that you could hit all of the iconic spots without having to walk forever. I don't have a picture of it but the first thing that we saw was Strawberry Fields and the tribute for John Lennon which was really lovely as there was a man busking and everyone around was singing which is quite special! Then after this we made our way to the main fountain but on our way we stopped at another fountain where all the horse and cartridges were turning around. My sister and I really wanted to find the main fountain because we would then be able to find where Chuck and Blair got married in Gossip Girl, going to New York was huge for us after being fans of the show for so long! We were then trying to get out of the park by walking down The Mall when we found Central Park Zoo which is the Zoo that Madagascar is based on and this made me really happy, we didn't go in the Zoo though but just seeing the entrance was enough for me!

After Central Park we decided to make our way towards the river for our cruise around the city as we wanted to rest out feet for a while! It was really nice just to sit back but still be able to see the city at the same time. My favourite parts of the cruise were going under the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and being able to see where Dan Humphrey from Gossip Girl lived whilst they were shooting the show. We also think we saw a doctor from ER on the cruise, not George Clooney obviously but the other one, I'm not convinced but my mum and sister were!

As the museum my step-dad wanted to go to was right next to the pier we decided to go there to. It was the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum but as we only got our tickets under the NY Pass we were only able to on the hanger and in the submarine. It was actually a really interesting museum and there were also some interactive sections which I really enjoyed because I'm a big kid but overall I enjoyed the hanger part. However, I thought that I would really enjoy the submarine as well but I felt so claustrophobic in there and I didn't like it at all so I tired to get through that as quick as possible but it was still interesting to see how they lived.

Like I said earlier we managed to fit in Top of the Rock during this evening and I am so glad that we did because the view from up there at night is outstanding. We got our tickets to go up and then we were given a time slot when we would have to come back and we had an hour to kill so we decided to go and look at the ice skating rink and where the massive Christmas tree goes. While we were waiting a man proposed to a woman on the skating rink and it was such a romantic moment to see and it made New York even more magical! Once it got to our time we made our way up to the top and it was freezing out there so we made sure that we had all the pictures that we wanted and then we went back into the warmth!

This was definitely a jam packed day but it was really good as we managed to do something that everyone wanted to do in one day. I really do hope that you guys are enjoying reading these posts as much as I loved writing them, I feel like I am reliving the whole trip over again! As normal I will see you all at 5 tomorrow for day 4!
