Spa Trip | Runnymede-On-Thames!

Hello Lovelies. Welcome back to Beautiful You!

I know its been a while and I am really sorry about that but today I thought that I would share with you all the amazing spa trip that my sister and I went on last week!

We booked to do this for my sister's 22nd Birthday, it did help that we got a voucher for Christmas from our brother and sister-in-law which we put towards it. The voucher is a spa finder voucher and I was looking around for spa where we could use the vouchers and we came across the Runnymede on Thames!

The Runnymede on Thames is located in Egham right on the river side as you could probably tell by the name. It is a sister hotel of The Athenaeum and The Grove Hotel, we booked this one because it wasn't too far away from our house and there was an amazing deal on at the time.

They had an 'amazing moments' offer on which included full use of the spa facilities for the whole day, a tray bake upon arrival, refreshments throughout the day, a one course lunch with a glass of prosecco and a 40 minute spa treatment; either a facial or a back, neck and shoulder massage, all for £80!

Both my sister and I chose the back massage as we had never had one before and for me the thought of someone touching my face creeps me out a little so I thought this was the better option. We arrived at the spa around 10 o'clock, we were greeted by one of the staff members, given our robes and slippers and shown around the spa.

After the tour we decided to get changed and go and have some refreshments before we went into the spa, we only had a few glasses of orange juice and read a magazine. After this we went straight into the pool area and had a swim before warming ourselves up in the hot tub. We chilled out until about 12 o'clock when we went back to their 'Garden Room' where we had our tray bake, on Monday's it is Rocky Road and it was one of the best things I have ever tasted; totally wish I could have had more!

After our snack we decided to go back into the pool area and chill out for a bit until our treatments at 2 o'clock, we tried to go in the sauna and steam room but we both really cannot stand being in there so we came out quite quickly! We hung around on the loungers, read magazine, chatted and dipped in and out of the pool for most of the afternoon and before we knew it, it was time for our massages.

I don't know why but for some reason I was really nervous about having this treatment because I'd never had one before but it was actually really relaxing. My therapist was called Nicole and she was so lovely, and as a first time she made me feel completely at ease and advised that she could stop or put less pressure on at any point which made me feel much more relaxed. She mainly focused on my lower back, around my shoulder bladed and the top of my neck as these were the areas that I have the most trouble.

After this we went for our lunch and this was the only part that I was slightly disappointed about because they didn't have much to choose from and I'm normally the non-fussy eater! I ended up having a curried egg open sandwich, which did taste lovely but I wish they had more options and maybe sightly bigger portions. I did take full advantage of the fruit bowl and have various snacks throughout the day!

At this point we were both so tired that we decided to go back to our room, this didn't come as part of the package but we added this on top as we wanted to make the most of the trip. When we got back to the room we both had a nap because we were so tired, then we got up and got ready to head out for dinner. We ended up going to Frankie and Benny's at Two Rivers in Staines but I honestly think F&B's has gone down hill since their new menu so I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon!

So that was our spa trip, I simply cannot recommend this hotel and spa enough. If any of you are looking to go for a Spa day or even looking for a present to buy a friend I would recommend spa vouchers and going to this hotel as it was one of the nicest I've stayed at in a while. Leave comments below if you have even been on a spa day and where you went because now I am eager to try out more!
